Work Experience
We are inviting Year 10 students to find a work experience placement for the week of Friday, 11th July to Thursday, 17th July 2025. It’s best if the placement is in an area related to their career interests, helping them gain insight into their future career options.
Work experience is a great way for students to understand the workplace, develop important skills, and make informed decisions about their future. We encourage students to research and apply for placements, which is a valuable skill when looking for jobs. They should contact potential employers directly. Opportunities are often available at well-known businesses, charities, and public sector organisations, and can be in-person, virtual, or a mix of both. They can also use family or social connections to help find placements.
Work experience offers many benefits. Students will learn about the work environment, develop practical skills like communication, problem-solving, time management, and teamwork, and become more confident. It can also increase motivation to continue studying or pursue further training. In some cases, work experience can even lead to future job opportunities.
This year, we are using the Unifrog platform again to help record and manage work placements. Students can access Unifrog at school or at home via the school website. After finding a placement and obtaining the employer’s contact details, students can enter the information into the Unifrog system. Please see the attached guide for step-by-step instructions.
We recommend students begin looking for placements as soon as possible to increase their chances of finding one that matches their interests. If you need any help, feel free to contact us.
We are happy to support by:
• Helping students identify areas of interest
• Suggesting potential employers
• Practicing telephone calls
• Discussing available options
