How We Support Students
Our support includes:
- Quality First Teaching and adaptive classroom strategies
- Personalised SEND provision maps
- In-class support and targeted interventions
- Literacy and numeracy interventions
- Emotional wellbeing support
- Small group or 1:1 mentoring
- Transition support from primary school
- Exam access arrangements
- EAL (English as an Additional Language) support
- Collaboration with external agencies and specialist services
We work in partnership with parents and carers throughout each student’s journey and value regular communication between home and school.
EAL
Students who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL) are welcomed and valued members of our school community. We recognise the strengths, experiences and cultural diversity that multilingual students bring to the Academy. Our aim is to ensure that all EAL learners feel included, confident and able to access the curriculum successfully while developing their English language skills. Support includes adaptive teaching strategies, vocabulary development, visual resources, targeted interventions and additional guidance within lessons. We work closely with students and families to support communication, wellbeing and academic progress, ensuring that language is never a barrier to achievement or participation in school life.
